Harvey Jean Benning

Harvey Jean (Walker) Benning, daughter of Harvey and Levy Walker, was born on November 4, 1934 in Savoy, Texas and went into the loving arms of Jesus on July 20, 2017. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Her first love was Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. She was a member of Saint Anne Catholic Church of Medical Lake. She worked as a candy stripper at the Big Springs Texas hospital when she met Bob, who was an enlisted soldier in the Air Force. It was love at first sight. They married within months and had 62 fabulous years together as best friends. Harvey was a huge supporter of Reardan High School athletes as she cooked spaghetti and fed hundreds of athletes during the 70's and 80's. She was the mom who never missed a game as she was well heard by the officials. She was also the #1 Gonzaga fan! Harvey had a soft heart when it came to kids in need. She was known to take in several young adults through the years when they had problems at home. Upon retirement Harvey and Bob were world travelers living where their hearts took them. Harvey wore many hats as a woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and confidant. She had many names to go with those hats: Jean, "Aunt Pete", Boogie, Me Maw... She will be dearly missed. The family takes joy in knowing she is dancing and singing "Amazing Grace" with Jesus. Harvey Jean is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Robert Sr.; seven children: Robert Jr. (Teresa), Deborah, Steven (Joanna), Sherryl, Carol (Gary), Theresa (AJ), and Mary (Tad); 17 grandchildren: Grandchildren: Billy Brown (Tiffany), Bobby Brown (Amy), Greg Brown (Rosie), Amanda Dahl, Sarah Quick (Albert), Elizabeth Dahl, Gary Dameron II, Matthew Dameron, Jacob Dameron, Barbie Stahl (Gary), Lisa Benning, Robert Benning, Donna Benning, SherrylAnn Benning, Thaniel Schrimshire and Theodore Schrimshire and 3 Great grandchildren: Gregory Brown II, Walker Brown and Trevor Samson Stahl; sister, Ruby Graham, sister-in-law, Marie Benning, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Harvey Jean was preceded in death by grandson, James. John 14:1-3 Jesus said, "Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also." Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 11:00 am at Saint Anne Catholic Church, 708 East Lake Street, Medical Lake Washington 99022 Reception to follow.
