Lisa Christine Faulkner

Lisa Christine Faulkner died on Monday, September 7, 2026, of breast cancer at the age of forty-one. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey and three daughters—Betsy, Abby, and Elsy. She was one of five daughters born to Gary and Phyllis Moe at Edwards AFB, CA, in August 1985. She had three older sisters, Emily, Jessica, and Heather, and a younger sister, Rebekah. Her father was a career officer, so she grew up in California, North Dakota, Missouri, and Illinois before graduating from Pine Creek High School in Colorado Springs with honors. Lisa was accepted to the United States Air Force Academy in 2004, where she earned her commission as a Second Lieutenant in 2009. Lisa served as a military Intelligence Officer in Texas, Kansas, and Maryland, finishing her career in the Air Force Reserves in 2023. She served overseas on two occasions and was key in the return of U.S. persons held hostage around the world. Lisa met her husband, Jeffrey, at the Academy. They married in 2010, living apart due to military requirements until 2013. Lisa’s firstborn daughter, Betsy, was born in Washington, D.C., in 2014, followed by Abby in 2016. In 2017, Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer. As in every area of her life, she boldly fought the disease, including several surgeries and more than a hundred rounds of chemotherapy. In 2021, Lisa became pregnant with her third daughter, Elsy. During normal pregnancy ultrasounds, she discovered that her breast cancer had metastasized to her liver. Because of her pregnancy, the cancer grew rapidly—endangering both of their lives. She and her daughter underwent eight rounds of chemotherapy while pregnant, miraculously preserving both lives. Elsy was born at full term just before Christmas 2021 in Spokane, WA. The cancer persisted, but Lisa continued to love and care for her daughters, husband, sisters, parents, family, and friends. She homeschooled her daughters despite the disease. In 2022, three days after abdominal surgery, she put her uniform back on to testify in defense of her husband at Jeffrey’s trial for refusing the COVID shot. Lisa’s accomplishments—her victories and setbacks—demonstrated a gracious tenacity to do the right thing without equivocation. Her touch was gentle, her voice was kind, her demeanor was humble, but she was undeterred and immovable from her goal of honoring her God and loving her fellow man. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6. At an early age, Lisa placed her life under the mighty hand of God. She was bold in her faith, which grew with each obstacle that she overcame—relying on God’s help. She lived her life with integrity and love for God, and now she rests in her Master’s joy forever.
